PennsylvaniaAre you looking for a vacation that is not only entertaining, but also educational? Look no further than the state of Pennsylvania.

Take the city of Philadelphia, the “City of Brotherly Love.” Here you’ll find the Atwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia, where the 300 year history of the city of Philadelphia is enshrined. Then stop by the Arch Street Meeting House to learn about the history of the early Quaker movement. Travel deeper into the city’s heart to see something of modern day beauty at the Fairmount Park Horticultural Center, where you’ll see a variety of greenhouses, exhibits and cactus gardens.

Head to the western side of the state for the amazing sights of Pittsburgh. For cultural attractions, you can’t beat the Steel City. Come see the Pittsburgh Opera, which blends history and artistic vision for one of the most dynamic operas in the entire country. Then check out the Andy Warhol Museum, where you can learn about the life and work of this famous artist. The Senator John Heinz History Center, affiliate of the Smithsonian Museum, is the largest history museum in the state.

Harrisburg, the state capitol, also offers sites you won’t be able to see anywhere else. You can’t miss the Capitol Building, with a dome that fills the Harrisburg skyline. President Theodore Roosevelt said, “It’s the handsomest building I ever saw.” Harrisburg also offers cultural attractions such as the Harrisburg Shakespeare Festival and the Susquehanna Art Museum. This Art Museum provides three traveling exhibits each year from prominent artists known both nationally and internationally.

The state of Pennsylvania has so much more for your family to see. Check out the Claws ‘n’ Paws Wild Animal Park to see exotic wildlife. The Steamtown National Historic Site and the Eckley Miner’s Village offer more historic fun for the family. The state of Pennsylvania is also full of great sporting events, including the Steelers, Eagles, Pirates, and Phillies.
