New JerseyA trip to New Jersey is one steeped in history. Home to Ellis Island, the entry point for thousands of immigrants entering the United States, it was also a central point during the Revolutionary War.

Art lovers can’t miss Newark. The Ace in the Hole, a performing arts center, features theme shows. Aljira, designated a Major Arts Organization, presents a wide range of visual arts exhibitions in downtown Newark. Another must-see is the Liberty Science Center, where your family can be entertained for hours in their eight galleries. The Liberty Science Center also boasts the world’s largest IMAX domed theatre, so be sure to catch a movie there.

Another popular destination in New Jersey is Atlantic City. While this city is famous for its casinos and resorts, there are also many family-friendly locations. One such stop is the Atlantic City Aquarium. Here you will find over 100 varieties of fish and other marine life in an expansive environment. Also check out the Atlantic City Art Gallery, which features three exhibition galleries, concerts, gallery talks, and artist demonstrations.

Any trip to New Jersey should include a stop at the state’s capitol, Trenton. Here you’ll find the New Jersey State Museum, which chronicles New Jersey’s activities during the Civil War. For those more interested in the Revolutionary War, check out the Clarke House in the Princeton Battlefield State Park.

New Jersey offers many other attractions, including the historic site of the great Hindenburg zeppelin crash. The Space Farms Zoo and Museum, a very popular tourist site, gives visitors a look at animals and other oddities of the state. You can check out the Thomas Edison Memorial Tower to see where Edison performed some of his original experiments. Also be sure to see the Sterling Hill Mining Museum or the place where Alexander Hamilton lost his famous last duel.
