Missouri Missouri, located in the Midwestern United States, is a great place to visit famous big cities, experience down home country fun, or seek outdoor excitement. The state is home to St. Louis, Kansas City, and Branson, three fantastically fun cities that no visitor should miss. Small towns scattered throughout the state provide a nice getaway with unique attractions.

St. Louis is the most popular destination in Missouri. Visitors should not miss the Gateway to the West: the famous St. Louis Arch. Kids will love the City Museum a few blocks from the Arch. The old, fourth floor warehouse has been transformed into a giant playground for kids to climb around, ride down several slides, and crawl through crevices finding surprises around every corner. The Magic House is also a memorable destination with all kinds of hands-on science experiments. Forest Park, near downtown, provides a wide variety of destinations that everyone will love including the Zoo, the Art Museum, and college favorite Delmar Loop with fun shopping and restaurants near Washington University.


The state is lined with opportunities for family excitement. Branson is the tourist capital of the Midwest for people of all ages. Live shows featuring brilliant singers, dancers, and comedians make for a fantastic nighttime adventure. Silver Dollar City, the most popular theme park in Branson, is more than a theme park. The park features rides, festivals, and attractions that take visitors back to the 1880s. There’s an antique toy shop, a silversmith, a candy maker, blacksmith, potter, and all kinds of other craftsmen throughout the park. Table Rock Lake in Branson is a popular destination for water sports. Families can rent a cabin or condo by the lake or stay in the Big Cedar Lodge owned by Bass Pro Shops.

Elephant Rocks State Park in Graniteville is a beautiful hiking destination, showcasing enormous granite rocks stacked on top of each other. For more hiking fun, St. Francois Mountains in the southeast Missouri the state’s only mountain range.
