Beautiful white sand beaches surround the Sunshine State from the gulf coast to Key West up to St. Augustine. Swimming is possible almost year round though the water is pretty chilly in the winter. The Gulf side offers calmer water while surfers prefer the Atlantic beaches like Sebastian Inlet and Cocoa Beach. Even in Central Florida you are never more than a couple of hours from the beach.
Orlando is the number one family vacation destination in the world. Of course Disney World is in Orlando, but there are many more theme parks there as well. Families will be sure to find more than enough entertainment in Orlando. The city also boasts over fifty family friendly resorts and plenty of affordable hotels and vacation rentals.
Florida contains some of Americas most unique natural wonders as well such as the Everglades and coral reefs. Your children can see manatees, alligators, sandhill cranes, sea turtles and many other unique animals. Snorkling in the coral reefs or walking on the boardwalks of the Everglades are something you and your kids are not likely to forget.
