Arizona Family Vacations

Alabama - Georgia |  Hawaii - Maryland
Massachusetts - New Jersey |  New Mexico - South Carolina
South Dakota - Wyoming

ArizonaArizona lies in the southwest amid desert climates, mountain scenery and Native American history. National monuments, parks and forests cover this state, giving outdoor voyagers a bounty of options. Indian Reservations across the state boast beautiful artifacts and rich culture.

Popular stops include Humphrey's Peak, which stands at 12,633 feet as the highest peak in Arizona, the majestic Grand Canyon, cut through the northwestern landscape, and the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, home to wild grown cacti.

Visitors are encouraged to visit Arizona's most traveled towns, including Phoenix, Tucson, and Flagstaff. The capital, Phoenix, is the largest city in Arizona and is nicknamed "Valley of the Sun" because it receives more than 325 days of sun each year. Vacationers can visit spas, restaurants, resorts, and golf courses year round. Popular destinations include the Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park, which is dedicated to preserving the history and ethnology of inhabitants of the southwest, Encanto or Enchanted Island Amusement Park, a theme park geared toward children age one through ten, and the South Mountain Park, which holds 51 miles of hiking, playing, and biking possibilities with great views of the city.

Tucson offers never-ending opportunities for fun with children. These include Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch, for an up-close look at interesting wildlife, the T-Rex Museum Activity Center, where guests can be archaeologists for a day, and the Valley of the Moon, a historic fantasy land with mineralized rock cliffs, caves, pools, and garden miniatures. Flagstaff features the Arizona Snowbowl, a ski lodge for all ages. During the summer months, they offer hiking and sky rides to view the glorious mountains.

For unbelievable natural scenery, visit the Petrified Forest National Park, the Navajo National Monument, the Painted Desert, Sunset Crater National Monument, Meteor Crater National Monument, and Montezuma Castle National Monument respectively scattered throughout the state. The mountains and desert scenery are enough to keep all eyes entertained on a drive through this southern state.
