Alabama, located in the heart of Dixie Country, provides entertainment for sports buffs, nature enthusiasts, history lovers, and many more. Children will love the exotic animals at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. For great shopping, visit Bayou Village, where you will find Sharkey’s Arcade and Cleopatra’s Oasis. Resorts welcome visitors to explore miles of beach used for hiking, sailing, surfing and relaxing. Meaher State Park tours 1,327 acres of wetlands giving visitors a close look at the Mobile Delta.

Birmingham, the “Magic City,” features McWane Science Center, a popular destination housing four floors of interactive exhibits that strive to inspire scientific wonder in visitors. You will also find an IMAX Dome that places the audience in the middle of the action. The Alabama Adventure Theme Park in Birmingham is Alabama’s only combined water and theme park giving families yet another activity option for their visit.

Other points of interest in Alabama include the Huntsville, home to the Marshall Space Flight Center, Dothan, proclaimed the “Peanut Capitol of the World,” and Mobile, where you can find the Bellingrath Gardens, the Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center, and the Dew Drop Inn, famed home of the cheeseburger recipe that inspired Jimmy Buffet’s “Cheeseburger in Paradise.”
